Job Summary:

The Senior Category Manager will drive the strategic direction and growth of assigned categories within the FMCG and beauty portfolio, focusing on maximizing sales, profitability, and market share across digital and retail channels. This role combines commercial planning, assortment management, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration to build a strong, competitive category presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute category strategies, assortment plans, and annual business roadmaps aligned with company growth objectives
  • Analyze consumer trends, market dynamics, and competitive data to identify white space opportunities and innovation potential
  • Define product mix, pricing architecture, and promotional calendars to drive category performance and improve profitability
  • Partner with e-commerce and retail teams to optimize online/offline assortment, content, and campaign execution
  • Manage supplier and brand partner relationships, including annual negotiations, business reviews, and joint business planning
  • Monitor category sales, margin, inventory, and other KPIs; prepare regular performance reports and insights for senior management
  • Collaborate with marketing on go-to-market initiatives and brand/category activations to drive traffic, conversion, and basket size
  • Coach and mentor junior category managers or merchandisers to build functional capabilities within the team

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years experience in category management or merchandising, preferably gained in the retail industry or with FMCG companies
  • Experience in the beauty and personal care category is preferred
  • Strong business acumen and proficiency in data analysis to generate insights and drive decisions
  • Experience in omnichannel strategy and cross-functional collaboration
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills
