Business Development Manager (Marine Insurance)
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the marine insurance sector to achieve growth targets.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, including shipowners, charterers, commodity traders, P&I Clubs, and other industry stakeholders.
- Formulate and implement strategic business and marketing plans to expand the companys portfolio.
- Collaborate with management to monitor market trends and develop new product or service offerings aligned with client needs.
Marine Insurance Broking
- Manage and grow a portfolio of marine insurance clients, ensuring excellent service delivery and client retention.
- Assess clients insurance and risk exposure to design customized coverage solutions (e.g., P&I, hull and machinery, cargo, and maritime liabilities).
- Negotiate with underwriters to secure optimal terms and coverage.
- Handle Fronting Arrangements and associated Reinsurance support to ensure competitive and compliant insurance coverage.
- Coordinate with the Claims Department for efficient claims management and resolution.
- Stay updated on global marine insurance trends and regulatory changes to provide informed client advice.
Client and Market Engagement
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings, promoting the companys expertise and services.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, offering clients guidance on best practices, compliance, and risk mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or diploma in Maritime Studies, Insurance, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in marine insurance broking, underwriting, or a related maritime industry role.
- Proven background in business development or sales within the insurance or maritime sector.
- Holder of a Philippine Insurance Commission Licensing Exam Certification (additional marine insurance certifications are an advanta
