Role Summary
The Head of Tax is responsible for the overall tax strategy, governance, and regulatory engagement of the organization. This role serves as a trusted adviser to executive leadership, overseeing complex tax structures and large-scale operations while ensuring full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Head of Tax maintains strong relationships with tax authorities and external regulators and plays a critical role in managing tax risk and supporting strategic business initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive the organizations tax strategy, governance framework, and overall tax risk posture.
- Lead all tax functions, including direct and indirect taxes, tax planning, audits, and controversy management.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with tax authorities, regulators, and external tax advisors.
- Oversee tax compliance, statutory filings, and reporting across multiple manufacturing sites nationwide.
- Review, analyze, and present quarterly tax positions, including deferred tax and timing differences, to senior management.
- Partner closely with Finance and executive leadership on enterprise risk management and strategic initiatives.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing tax organization composed of senior functional leads.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience leading the tax function of a multinational organization or large conglomerate.
- Deep expertise in tax audits, regulatory negotiations, and strategic tax planning.
- Proven ability to operate at the executive level and influence internal stakeholders and external regulators.
- Highly adaptable and resilient, with the ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
