Role: Assistant Engineering Manager

Location: Danao, Cebu (Onsite)

Role Overview

The Assistant Engineering Manager oversees day-to-day plant engineering operations, ensuring that utilities, equipment, and preventive maintenance programs run efficiently and safely. The role includes supervising engineering personnel, optimizing systems, supporting troubleshooting activities, and ensuring plant compliance with operational, environmental, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily engineering activities, ensuring all plant utility systems (refrigeration, compressed air, power, steam, etc.) operate effectively.
  • Oversee the execution of Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks and ensure timely completion based on schedule.
  • Recommend updates to PM work orders, schedules, and procedures as needed.
  • Review and evaluate daily monitoring logs and activities of Engineering Technicians.
  • Support troubleshooting, system upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives for plant equipment and utilities.
  • Ensure availability of critical spare parts and engineering supplies for uninterrupted plant operations.
  • Ensure full compliance with internal and external audits related to structure, wastewater, fire protection, environment, health, and safety.
  • Lead pre-bid and bidding processes for engineering projects; assess and coordinate with contractors and suppliers.
  • Oversee acceptance, evaluation, and auditing of third-party services and project implementation.
  • Manage spare parts purchasing and monitor inventory levels.
  • Plan and schedule work orders and assign tasks to engineering staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in any Engineering field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing or plant operations environment in a supervisory or similar capacity.
  • Preferably a Licensed Engineer.
  • Knowledgeable in refrigeration, HVAC systems, electrical power, water systems, steam systems, compressed air, and rotating equipment maintenance.
  • Experience with Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) or related methodologies.
  • Strong leadership, communication skills, and high stress tolerance.
  • Able to recommend process improvements, policy changes, and system enhancements.
  • Willing to work onsite in Danao, Cebu.
