Schedule: Monday to Friday, Dayshift

Role Overview

The Engineering Assistant Manager oversees daily plant engineering operations, ensuring all systems and equipment are maintained, monitored, and optimized for efficient production. This role supervises engineering technicians, manages preventive maintenance programs, and drives improvements across plant systems including refrigeration, power, steam, compressed air, and other critical equipment. The position also coordinates with suppliers and contractors to support projects and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in any Engineering discipline.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in plant maintenance or engineering in a manufacturing environment.
  • Licensed Engineer preferred.
  • Experience in Food & Beverage, FMCG, or industrial/plant manufacturing industries.
  • Strong technical knowledge in refrigeration, HVAC, power, water, steam, compressed air, and rotating equipment maintenance.
  • Experienced in Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) programs.
  • Strong leadership skills, capable of guiding teams, recommending improvements, and implementing changes in policies or procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Willingness to be assigned to Danao, Cebu.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and evaluate engineering technicians daily monitoring and maintenance activities.
  • Oversee, standardize, and recommend improvements for plant systems including refrigeration, compressed air, power, steam, and equipment preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure timely and effective completion of preventive maintenance tasks and adjust schedules or work orders as needed.
  • Assist in troubleshooting plant equipment and initiate system upgrades.
  • Ensure availability of critical equipment and components to support smooth production.
  • Maintain compliance with internal and external audit requirements (structural, fire safety, environmental, health, and safety).
  • Manage pre-bid and bid evaluations for projects, coordinate with suppliers and contractors, and audit third-party activities.
  • Initiate procurement of spare parts and manage inventory control.
  • Plan and schedule work orders and maintenance activities for direct reports.
  • Introduce process improvements, new methods, or policy changes that enhance plant operations.
