Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal advice to senior leadership on corporate, regulatory, and commercial matters related to the power and energy industry.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including EPC agreements, power supply agreements, joint ventures, procurement contracts, land acquisition documents, and service agreements.
  • Oversee legal due diligence for new projects, partnerships, and acquisitions.
  • Ensure compliance with national and local regulations governing energy, utilities, and essential service development.
  • Manage disputes, litigation, and coordination with external counsel when necessary.
  • Develop and implement internal policies, legal frameworks, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Support government permitting processes, regulatory filings, and project approvals.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting operations and advise management on necessary adjustments.
  • Mentor and supervise members of the legal team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Law (LLB/JD); must be a licensed attorney.
  • 810 years of progressive legal experience, preferably within the power, energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong background in commercial law, regulatory compliance, and contract management.
  • Experience dealing with government agencies and regulatory bodies.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
