Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to oversee and grow a portfolio of marine insurance clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring exceptional service delivery, coordinating policy renewals, and identifying opportunities to expand existing accounts. This role requires a solid understanding of marine insurance products and the ability to work closely with insurers, underwriters, and internal teams to provide tailored insurance solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management
- Manage and maintain a portfolio of marine insurance clients, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding policy inquiries, renewals, endorsements, and coverage requirements.
- Build long-term relationships with clients by understanding their business operations and insurance needs.
- Conduct regular account reviews and recommend appropriate insurance solutions based on changing risk exposures.
Marine Insurance Servicing

Coordinate placement and renewal of marine insurance policies, including:
- Protection & Indemnity (P&I)
- Hull & Machinery
- Marine Cargo
- Freight Liability
- Other marine-related insurance products
- Liaise with insurers and underwriters to negotiate competitive terms, pricing, and coverage.
- Assist clients in understanding policy coverage, exclusions, and risk management recommendations.
- Coordinate with the Claims Team to facilitate efficient claims handling and ensure timely resolution.
- Support fronting arrangements and reinsurance placements when required.
Client Relationship & Portfolio Growth
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling insurance products within existing client accounts.
- Work closely with the Business Development team in transitioning newly acquired clients and ensuring seamless onboarding.
- Monitor client satisfaction and proactively address concerns to strengthen long-term partnerships.
- Stay updated on industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging risks affecting the marine sector.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Maritime Studies, Insurance, Business Administration, or any related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in marine insurance, insurance broking, underwriting, or account management.
- Experience handling marine insurance accounts is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of marine insurance products, policy administration, and claims processes.
- Excellent relationship management, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with clients, insurers, underwriters, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
